"We are at war in Europe. Russia's violent advance into Ukraine not only leaves you all speechless, but also us. Our deepest sympathies go out to the people on the ground and their families." Hermes Fulfilment and the Otto Group do not employ any staff of their own in Ukraine. However, many Ukrainians work at HF, especially in returns processing at our site in Pilsen. The management there, consisting of Vladimir Dvorak and Alois Pokorny, is in close contact with the employees.
"It is understandable that you are very worried. We are also dismayed by the news. We especially feel for our Ukrainian colleagues who have family and friends in the affected areas," say Eva Witte, Kevin Kufs and Roy Smolders. "It is shocking to see how threats and fears that were thought long gone have now become a terrible reality again. The situation is difficult to assess and there are many, sometimes contradictory, reports in circulation. It is becoming clear what a precious commodity peace and freedom are. Alongside all the upsetting news, however, there are also many hopeful signs of solidarity and humanity that are spreading from Germany and throughout Europe."
