Hermes Fulfilment GmbH is a company of the internationally active Hermes Group, which is part of the Otto Group. With around 6,000 employees, we move over 250 million items every year: from smartphones to washing machines, from shoes to evening dresses. What do you actually take care of?
I sometimes ask myself that too (laughs). But seriously: I'm responsible for ensuring the long-term success of HF by making the right decisions and working together with a large and fantastic team.
What amazes you as a layman?
The layman is definitely amazed at how big and versatile Hermes Fulfilment is and what huge potential we have.
Hand on heart: Why can't HF do without you?
I am happy to answer this question three years after taking office as CEO in April 2021.

What are you actually responsible for?
As CFO, I take care of the company's finances and, in my responsibility for HR, I also look after all my colleagues at HF.
What amazes a layman?
How many and incredibly versatile colleagues we have in our ranks at HF.
Why can't HF do without you?
It always works without one - but I would be delighted if, one year after I took office in February 2021, everyone at HF said: "It's better with you".

Three questions for Managing Director Roy Smolders | Managing Director Operations
What are you actually responsible for?
As Managing Director Operations, I am responsible for HF's operational business, i.e. for the performance of our operations.
What amazes the layman?
Our incredible performance. Every day, we process more than a million items in parcel and large item logistics as well as returns! This only works because we are one big HF team with more and more locations and over 6,000 employees.
Why can't HF do without you?
I'll let others judge that once I've been at HF a little longer. But as a Dutchman, which I am, I can already say that someone here at HF will have to keep their fingers crossed for our national team when the World Cup takes place in 2022 (laughs).
